John, Aimee, Olivia, Abigail, and Jacob Miller
John
John met Aimee 18 years ago and they have been best friends ever since. They have been married for 16 of those years and are looking forward to the years ahead. John graduated from Embry Riddle with a degree in aircraft engineering, but has been programming computers for the past 14 years. He has used that expertise on the field to help plan the layout for a school computer lab, to teach youth computer skills, to help fellow missionaries build their websites, to facilitate communication between the Christian homes located in Guatemala, and to work in cooperation with Tree of Rest to bring their program of healing for children with Random Attachment Disorder into orphanages in Guatemala. John enjoys solving a problem, playing with kids and surfing.
Aimee
Aimee has a degree in Spanish from Virginia Tech and has used her language skills to minister to children, youth and now young adults. She works teaching English as a second language and leads a women’s Bible study. Along with John, she ministers to the young adults at Planting Seeds to teach them the necessary life skills to be able to live independently. Aimee loves to read, sing and work in the garden.
Olivia
Olivia will soon be 13 and starting the 8th grade in the Fall. Before she knew of her parents’ calling to serve in Guatemala, she brought home a school paper asking what she wanted to be when she grew up. Her answer – a missionary. She began visiting Guatemala with her family in 2006 and immediately grew to love the children she had met. Olivia loves to sing, dance, draw and give to others.
Abigail
Abigail is 8 and will be in 3rd grade this Fall. From the moment she was born, Abigail has loved to be on the move. Abigail likes to encourage her fellow classmates and says she wants to be an art teacher when she grows up. She loves to play with her brother, dance, sing and play board games.
Jacob
Jacob turned 2 in March. From the time he learned to walk he has wanted to help his dad with projects. His favorite song is “I’ve Got the Joy in My Heart”. Jacob loves to play with his tools, give hugs to his dog Riley, help vacuum the house and play with his sisters. |
